Shiatsu is a therapeutic form of acupressure, muscle meridian stretching, and corrective exercise, designed to restore the balance of energy in your body.
Before your Shiatsu massage, we will talk through your needs and get to know each other a bit, so don’t worry if you have never experienced Shiatsu before! Many of our clients haven’t. You will keep your clothing on, so just wear something soft and comfortable (no jeans please). Your treatment will always be tailored exactly to you.
Treatment may include:
the use of flowing stretches and gentle rotations of the limbs and joints, simple structural alignments and muscle release techniques to release blocked energy.
applying targeted pressure to specific points on your body
rubbing or gentle shaking to improve energy flow (Sotai)
heat therapy to nourish energy and blood (Moxa)
cupping to release tension, ease pain and detox the body
